Wilkie and Davis Crash the Carolinas OpenTwo Comebacks From the West Side Crown the Billiard Winnersby Rick DavisThe Carolinas Open drew in a big crowd for their billiards popular event, which featured 9-ball and one-pocket September 12-17. All of the action took place at Fast Eddie’s Sports Bar in Goldsboro, NC, where Shaun “Get Some” Wilkie claimed the top honors in 9-ball, while Mike Davis cleaned up the one-pocket action.Nine-ball action was fierce with 62 competitors for double-elimination races to 11. As the event neared completion only a handful remained who might capture the title. Battling for the hot seat were Bill Bailey and Brandon Ashcraft, and after the dust cleared Ashcraft had come out on top.
