McDonald Scores a Win

Canadian 30K Tour / Scarborough, CAN

By Willy Hermoza

Shooters Billiards in Scarborough was busy the weekend of January 13-14, with 36 billiard players attending the Canadian 30K Tour despite the Derby City Classic in Louisville, KY, and Scott McDonald took full advantage of that fact.

Marc and McEarl Bucais are two youngsters that are improving rapidly with the tour—their skills are solid and playing at their home room made them feel comfortable. The hot seat match was between McEarl and Scott McDonald, where the new gun bested Scott 5-5.

Now fresh from the loss on the A-side, McDonald awaited Lorenz Schedereit and defeats him by an 8-3 score, taking a ride back to face the young gun McEarl. With the match being 8-5, McDonald needed to defeat McEarl twice to take the stop. The first match is a grind to hill-hill in which McDonald prevailed. After a few minutes and some reloading they engage once more in one final match, where McDonald left no doubts with an 8-3
victory.

Results:
1st Scott McDonald
2nd McEarl Bucais
