Route 9 Ball Classic Main Event Championship

October 24th, 2001

Twenty-year-old Louis Callaghan has lifted the Route 9 Ball Classic Main Event Championship following a 9-5 final win over Mick Fletcher. Callaghan was in top-form on route to collecting the £200 winning prize. The final saw Callaghan overcome top local snooker player Mick Fletcher.
“I’m so pleased to win,” said Louis. “I have been playing a bit of snooker and I think this has improved my game. I played really well.” The Route 9 resident professional survived a tough semi-final against Norman Kay but he eventually won the encounter 9-7. Fletcher put out Peter Rowley 9-5.

UK number 1 Daryl Peach surprisingly failed to show for the £500 Grand Finals and first round opponent David Wignell was awarded a walkover.
