The Games Change as the Weekend Comes at Shootersby Rick DavisNow in day two of the four days of events, the action at Shooters in Olathe, KS, is starting to change pace as the one-pocket event reaches the climax while the 9-ball events begin to get rolling.Only three players remain in the one-pocket event that began Thursday, and Brian Jones is waiting in the hot seat. Fighting it out on the one-loss side is Danny Harriman and Jesse Bowman to see who will see the final match. With Fridays play already going late, the final match is expected to be played Saturday.

Jones MatchLondon UK: 6th July, 2006: Eurosport, the leading tv sports network in France, Germany, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, amongst other European territories, has announced that it will broadcast the IPT World 8-Ball Championship match this Saturday July 8th in prime-time. The historic match, which pitted pool legend Mike The Mouth Sigel against female Hall of Famer LoreeJon Jones, was held at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas and was hailed as the most star-studded event in pool history. Sigel vs. Jones will kick off a comprehensive schedule of International Pool Tour programming on Eurosport, which will broadcast all 2006 IPT events live, in prime-time, throughout Europe.

Friday afternoon starts the 9-ball action with an open and ladies division, along with a players auction. Ladies will be racing to 7, while the open players will race to 9, both in a double-elimination format.Eyes were all on the one-pocket action Thursday, which began July 6 and is scheduled to run until Saturday. The $1,000-added, race to 3, double-elimination event attracted 40 entries, which include Buddy Hall, who is definitely the crowd favorite. Room owner Al Atkinson pointed out that its anyones game, with hard hitters such as Jesse Bowman and Brian Jones in the mix.
