Defending champion Allison “The Duchess of Doom” Fisher will attempt to retain her title while the 64-player field vies for not only the championship but the $16,000 first-place prize.

Games and Billiards Battle CryHOTT players deployed for Games and Billiards in Killeen, Texas, home to Fort Hood, October 14 and 15 armed with cues to do battle in the 3rd campaign of the tour. The battlefield consisted of eight 9’ Brunswicks, Simonis cloth, and Centennial Balls. Intelligence reports indicated that Heather Pulford, fresh from a victory in the Houston Open, Terry Petrosinso runner-up in the Houston Open, and Belinda Calhoun, WPBA Touring Pro, were pre-tournament favorites.

Play on October 14 dwindled down to the top eight, who returned for play the following day, and through the mix Jerry Slivka came through the event unscathed.

The Usual Suspects at the Florida Billiards Tourby Rick DavisWith two billiard events in two weeks, the Seminole Florida Pro Tour pulled into Miami, FL, for their seventh stop of the 2006 season. Fifty-two players made the trip south to Bird Bowl Billiards the weekend of October 14-15 to claim their share of the $8,000-added purse.

Fisher Goes Undefeated, Futrell Takes Juniors Billiards ChampionshipTiger 9-Ball Tour / Arnold, MDThe Tiger Tour returned to Bill Billie’s Cuesport in Arnold, MD, October 7-8 for a weekend of new events. Last month the open division held the U.S. Open warm-up event, and this weekend the ladies played a special two-day, WPBA-qualifier event that drew players from several states. On Sunday, the first-ever East Coast Juniors Championship was held with a small but strong field of players under the age of 21. Bill Billies room owner Kurt Ziem has been a long-time pool supporter, and this event was no different, making this a $2,500-added event.

Salvas and Massey Win Billiards TitlesThe 2006 ESPN Zone Billiards Shootout was held October 4-5 in Las Vegas. Luc Salvas defeated Dave Pearson for the International Speed Pool Challenge crown and Mike Massey bested Tom Rossman for the Trick Shot Magic title.
