August 18th, 2006

Bryant Wins Second Fast Eddie’s Billiards EventFast Eddie’s Olhausen 9-Ball Tour / Pool and Billiards events / Houston, TXThe heat was on at the eighth event of the Fast Eddie’s Olhausen 9-Ball Tour, which stopped in Houston, TX, the weekend of August 12-13. With 82 players and one air conditioner on the fritz, the atmosphere was steamy, but that didn’t bother Charlie Bryant as he whipped through as cool as a cucumber to win the event undefeated.Top picks were James Davis Sr., Jui Lung Chen, Sylver Ochoa, and Barry Emerson. The always-tough Ochoa ended up earning third place—he bested Gordon Van der Veer in the quarterfinals but came up short against Davis Sr. in the semis. Davis, a slow, quiet player, advanced to face Bryant in the final match, exhibiting quite a difference in styles and mannerisms. The powerful and energetic Bryant put on a great display of control over the table and ended up coming out the 9-7 winner over Davis, making this the second event of the year that the IPT member has won.

This was one of the most fun tournaments and Alexander’s was the perfect place for it!Out of all the teams, 2 stood out above the rest. Michelle Trevino and Colin Winter reigned supreme as they went undefeated all the way to the hot seat! Their hot-seat match was against another awesome team, Susan Mello and Ann Merseal. This was a tough match and although both teams played well, Michelle and Colin were victorious and won the match 7 to 5.While Michelle and Colin waited patiently, Susan and Ann had to face Natalie Hostler and Bull Becker. Their tattoos alone were intimidating let alone how they had been kickin’ butt all weekend! But Susan and Ann are not easily intimidated and beat up on Nat and Bull, winning the match 7 to 2.
