The January 19-21 weekend featured four 2006/2007 McDermott All American Tour stops around the country, one of them being a $500 added 8-ball event with thirty players, hosted by owner Henry Nogiec and director Greg Kuhl at the Las Vegas Cue Club in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Saturday.
The American CueSports Alliance-produced event featured a double-elimination format on Global 7-footers, and Henry Nogiec ran undefeated to the finals. In the hot-seat match, Nogiec – rated a “6” on a local handicap system used – outpointed Edgar Jackson , rated a “5”, 6-2.

Hewitt lost his first-round match in the Stan James Canadian Nine Ball Tour event this weekend held at Dooly’s Billiards in Valleyfield, Quebec, but went all the way through the one-loss side of the charts to face an undefeated Jeff Kennedy. When he bested Kennedy 11-6 he claimed the title and was finally able to relax after two tough days.
