Action on the one-loss side turned into death row for the top pros and crowd favorites. In the days first round, Marvelous Marlon Manalo was eliminated 9-7 by Dave Grau, while Shawn Putnam buzzed past Allen Hopkins 9-6. Putnam didnt look back, defeating his next three opponents to find his way to the last round of the one-loss side.At the same time, Tony Crosby made his way through a couple of rounds before Keith McCready eliminated him 9-4 to face Jerry Slivka in the next round. Slivka laid waste to the one-loss side, winning seven matches after his early loss, which included eliminating defending champion Dennis Hatch 9-7. McCready put up a good fight, but Slivka took the lead and quickly built it up to take the match 9-6.

The event will be held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino and will dole out a total of $3,000,000.Undoubtably one of the most talented and fearless females in the game, Jasmin Ouschan played in the qualifier in Oslo, Norway, held at Elbow Room. Ouschan recently defeated the WPBAs number one, Allison Fisher, at the EnjoyPool.com 9-Ball Championship last May at the Riviera Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV. Ben Davies of Wales walked through the 15-player field untouched to play Ouschan in the finals and won 10-4. In the second finals, Ouschan went up against Vilmos Foldes, a frequent qualification event participant. The ill-fated Foldes couldnt withstand Ouschan, who swept by 10-7 to earn her spot in the next IPT event.

Taking place from August 17 – 20 at the Turning Stone Hotel and Casino in Verona, NY, a full field of 128 billiards players were poised to play for the $25,000-added prize pool. Winners’ side action was fierce from the start with defending champion Dennis Hatch defeating Mike Davis 9-6 in their featured first-round match. Hatch fell in the next round to Zion Zvi, who flew through four rounds to face Santos Sambajon Jr. in the quarterfinals. George Breedlove had a strong start but lost double-hill to Tony The Sniper Crosby in Round 2, who continued on until Zvi sent him to the one-loss side after a close 9-7 match.

Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour the weekend of August 12-13. Hosted by The Crooked Cue billiard parlor in Waynesville, NC, the stop garnered a field of 33 tough Southern pool players.Working his way through the one-loss side, Kennedy made it to the quarterfinals against Brian White, defeating him 9-6. Meanwhile, Jeff Abernathy and B.J. Ussery fought a hill-hill nail-biter for the hot seat, with Abernathy squeaking by with the prize. Now facing Kennedy, Ussery seemed a bit deflated and went home with a third-place finish after TK in FLA won their match 9-6. In the finals, it was all Kennedy, and he defeated Abernathy 11-6 for the title.
