Hopkins Named Director of Program Development
Billiard Education Foundation Executive Director Laura Smith has announced the hire of long time industry leader Dawn Hopkins as Director of Program Development to assist the BEF in its goal of growing billiard’s grass roots through increased youth programs.

The Billiard Education Foundation (BEF) is in the final month of accepting applications for the current year of scholarship awards. To be considered, completed paperwork must be submitted to the Billiard Education Foundation office, postmark no later than April 17, 2007.

The Armand Capital Group, a Chicago private equity firm and parent company of Belgium-based Saluc SA, maker of the famous Aramith billiard balls (www.aramith.com), has acquired the C.L. Bailey Co., a Marionville, MO, manufacturer and distributor of pool tables, gameroom furniture, and billiard accessories. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

With the ultimate goal of gaining cue sport affiliation to the USOC – US Olympic Committee, the American CueSports Alliance (ACS) is very pleased to announce a very significant restructuring within the United States for all three recognized disciplines of billiards – Carom, Pool and Snooker.
First, both the USBA – United States Billiard Association (Carom) and the USSA – United States Snooker Association (Snooker) formally agreed to be represented by the ACS within the international billiard structure.
