On the one-loss side, frequent tour winner Eric Hjorliefson didnt have much luck, going down to Mario Morra in the quarterfinal match.

On the winners side McCreesh bested tour promoter Mike Zuglan 9-5, while Sean Morgan did the same to Chris Lynch 9-6. The hot seat match between McCreesh and Morgan stayed close until the end, where a quick surge gave McCreesh the 9-7 win and ushered him into the finals.
