Lee Leads the PackWPBA Carolina Classic

Fresh off her victory at the Skins Billiards Championship, seventh-ranked Jeanette Lee put in a strong performance to advance to the next round to face Megan Minerich. In her first-round match this evening, Lee met Canada’s Rachael Abbink, and though Lee took the first three racks, Abbink fought back to knot the score at 3-all. Though in almost each game afterward the ladies traded innings, Abbink couldn’t seem to come out on the winning…

Lee Leads the PackWPBA Carolina Classic

Fresh off her victory at the Skins Billiards Championship, seventh-ranked Jeanette Lee put in a strong performance to advance to the next round to face Megan Minerich. In her first-round match this evening, Lee met Canada’s Rachael Abbink, and though Lee took the first three racks, Abbink fought back to knot the score at 3-all. Though in almost each game afterward the ladies traded innings, Abbink couldn’t seem to come out on the winning end of it, and soon Lee crossed the finish line with a 9-3 win.

The February 17-18 weekend brought the usual suspects along with a host of others for the Tri-State Tour’s semi-regular straight pool event held at Gotham Billiards in North Bergen, NJ. The event featured four classes, each having their own event, with the Pro/A class playing a round robin format while the B, C, and D classes played in double-elimination format.

Fighting through a stacked field of 103 billiard players, Tony “The Sniper” Crosby went undefeated to claim the Andy Grubbs Memorial Tournament. Taking place at Starcade Billiards in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, the February 18 event drew in players and fans alike to show their respect for Grubbs, a former partner of the host room who suddenly passed away in 2003.
