Tee’s and Cue’s in Oshawa, ONT, welcomed 33 billiard players for the February 18 stop of the Canadian 30K Tour. Of the faithful members, which included Scott McDonald, Mario Morra, and Ron Ranalli, it was Erik “Big Red” Hjorliefson who triumphed yet again to take first place.

The Tiger Pool Tour’s 2007 season got underway February 17-18 at Hagerstown Billiards in Hagerstown, MD, where a 113-player field emerged in the open division and 25 players mixed things up in the ladies’ division. My-Hanh Lac recovered nicely to comeback and claimed the ladies’ title, while Shawn Putnam kept firm control in the open division, winning the event undefeated.

Strong billiard resumes have been proven worthless on the Stan James Canadian Nine Ball Tour. Former World and US Open Champion Alex Pagulayan could manage no better than 5th place as he fell first to Edwin Montal (9-7) and then was cast aside easily by Paul Potier (9-3). Current Canadian National Champion Brady Gollan could fare no better. He also wound up in the tie for fifth place when he was bested…

Former World and US Open Champion Alex Pagulayan could manage no better than 5th place as he fell first to Edwin Montal (9-7) and then was cast aside easily by Paul Potier (9-3). Current Canadian National Champion Brady Gollan could fare no better. He also wound up in the tie for fifth place when he was bested by John Horsfall (9-8) and then by Jeff Kennedy (9-6).

The field at this billiard stop of the Stan James Canadian Nine Ball Tour is perhaps the strongest to date. Former World Champion Alex Pagulayan is here as well as current Canadian National Champion Brady Gollan and an all-star cast of Canadian champions. The total player count here at Breakers Billiards and Bistro when the day began was sixty-eight. Only twenty-four will be left to play on Sunday.

The twenty-first stop of the 2006/2007 McDermott All American Tour featured a $500-added purse with 33 players and was hosted by Rudy’s Place in Aurora, IL. Held February 10, this event included a double-elimination 8-ball format on bar boxes, in which John Smith ran undefeated to the finals.
